How to install DocSlicer

Python (uvx)

claude mcp add -e DOCSLICER_MCP_ROOT=<your-docslicer-mcp-root> docslicer -- uvx docslicer==0.2.5

Or add it to your MCP config (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "docslicer": {
      "command": "uvx",
      "args": [
        "docslicer==0.2.5"
      ],
      "env": {
        "DOCSLICER_MCP_ROOT": "<your-docslicer-mcp-root>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Environment variables:
DOCSLICER_MCP_ROOT (required) – Restrict file sources and outputs to this directory tree. Several may be given, separated by the platform path separator.
DOCSLICER_MCP_ALLOW_CLAUDE_DIR – Set to 0 to refuse documents dropped into a Claude chat, which the app copies into its own directory outside DOCSLICER_MCP_ROOT.
DOCSLICER_MCP_ALLOW_URLS – Set to 0 to reject http(s) sources and only permit local files.

Replace placeholders in <angle brackets> with your own values. Review what a server can access before you enable it.
