How to install Nhost

Docker

claude mcp add -e MCP_GRAPHQL_ENDPOINT=<your-mcp-graphql-endpoint> -e MCP_AUTH_URL=<your-mcp-auth-url> mcp -- docker run -i --rm docker.io/nhost/mcp:0.4.0-beta2

Or add it to your MCP config (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mcp": {
      "command": "docker",
      "args": [
        "run",
        "-i",
        "--rm",
        "docker.io/nhost/mcp:0.4.0-beta2"
      ],
      "env": {
        "MCP_GRAPHQL_ENDPOINT": "<your-mcp-graphql-endpoint>",
        "MCP_AUTH_URL": "<your-mcp-auth-url>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Environment variables:
MCP_GRAPHQL_ENDPOINT (required) – GraphQL endpoint of the Nhost project the server exposes, e.g. http://hasura-service:8080/v1/graphql
MCP_AUTH_URL (required) – Nhost Auth URL used as the OAuth2 authorization server, e.g. https://SUBDOMAIN.auth.REGION.nhost.run/v1

Replace placeholders in <angle brackets> with your own values. Review what a server can access before you enable it.
